Some homes are meant to be seen. This one was designed to be felt.
Nestled beside a quiet pond in Wayzata, Pondsview Cottage is a love letter to warmth, comfort, and timeless design. What began as a simple remodel evolved into a deeply personal retreat — a place where the homeowner can slow down, reconnect, and breathe in the beauty of every season.

The Vision Behind the Design
The inspiration for this project came from the landscape itself. The home sits on a peaceful pond, surrounded by mature trees that change beautifully with each season. We wanted the interior to reflect that same sense of tranquility — soft, layered, and intentionally crafted to invite stillness and connection.
Every finish was chosen to feel tactile and lived-in: warm wood cabinetry, creamy plaster tones, brushed brass details, and natural stone surfaces that age gracefully. We leaned into classic cottage charm with a refined twist — creating a space that feels both timeless and elevated.

A Home That Flows With Intention
From the moment you step inside, the flow of this home tells a story. Light pours through generous windows, framing serene water views and creating an effortless connection between indoors and out.
The heart of the home is the open living and kitchen space — designed for quiet mornings with coffee and lively evenings gathered with friends. Thoughtful millwork details, layered lighting, and soft textural elements weave together to create rooms that invite you to stay awhile.
No corner was left untouched. Each space was reimagined with both function and emotion in mind, ensuring the home would live beautifully through every chapter.

A Year-Round Retreat
As the holidays approach, Pondsview Cottage truly comes to life. The gentle flicker of the fireplaces casts a warm glow, greenery drapes across rich wood tones, and the scent of something baking fills the air — creating a retreat made for gathering and slowing down.
But its magic isn’t just seasonal — it was designed to feel like a waterfront retreat all year long. From summer mornings on the deck overlooking the water to cozy winter nights, this home captures the essence of slow, intentional living.
