Creating a Large Scale Gallery Wall | Copycat Layout Included

We talk gallery walls often and it's because it is the number one thing requested of us from clients.  And for good reason - there are endless possibilities to creating one.  Our clients are often wanting a solution to fill their walls and also to display photos.  There isn't a better option than a gallery wall?  There are no 2 gallery walls the same because there are so many options for frames, prints and objects to be incorporated.

We have provided a copycat layout of our large scale gallery wall below and shopable links to make it SUPER SIMPLE to recreate!  Don't have canvas prints?  We have included a similar layout that replaces these canvas prints with frames!  Check it out!

We love to fill large spaces with gallery walls and this empty 2 story stairwell was the perfect spot to fill with family photos.

We love how this fills the space and really makes a statement. We were able to go large scale with all of the images which allows you to be able to see them from both the top of the stairs and bottom.

The Details

Don't be afraid to use the entire wall!  When creating a large scale gallery wall like this, there is no rule on how low you can go.  Utilize the space!  All too often we find that people are worried about height of pictures.  Throw the "rules" out the window and start low!  You will love the result.

The stairs lead up to the private/family bedroom space for the family and feel this is such a nice transition from the main living space.  It creates a nice transition between the two areas.

We wanted to utilize color photos in this gallery wall so we kept all of the frames cohesive by using thin black modern frames.  This draws your eyes to the images and not the frames and keeps it from looking too overwhelming.

Because we were utilizing the entire wall, we kept the layout tall and created clean lines along the walls to draw your eye up.  This frames out the wall really nicely.

We wanted to use canvas prints in the design so we kept the layouts of these canvas prints the same by using the (3) prints.

We love how you can see the images both coming up the stairs and going down.  This really creates such a dramatic eye catching wall.  I think I smile every time I walk up and down the stairs looking at our babies!

We create so many gallery walls for families that we really wanted to create one of our own.  We also get a lot of family photos taken by Nichole LaCoste Photography who does a beautiful job for us so it was super important that we have a place to display these photos.  It'll also be so wonderful to change these out as our family grows!
